Monetary policy

Bitcoin's money rules are fixed software, not committee decisions.

In plain words

A central bank steers money by decree: print more, change rates, decide. Bitcoin has no one to decide. Its rules are fixed software: so many coins per block, halved every four years, capped at 21 million — enforced identically by every node. No meetings. No exceptions. No emergency levers. Bitcoin cannot bend to a crisis, and that is the point: rules you can verify, not promises you must trust.

Why it matters

  • The supply for the next century is knowable today.
  • No printer — so no fight over who holds it.
  • Verified by anyone's node. Promised by no one.

Not to be confused with

  • Price stability — Bitcoin fixes supply, not price; its price floats freely.
