Phishing
Fake sites, emails, and "support" designed to harvest your seed words or logins.
In plain words
Phishing is impersonation: an email wearing your exchange's face, an ad for a lookalike wallet site, a message from fake "support," a popup shouting your funds are at risk. The mask changes; the demand never does — your seed words, your password, or your approval on something you don't understand. The defense is dull and it works: bookmarks, no unasked-for help, and any request for seed words treated as the attack itself.
Why it matters
- It attacks you, not Bitcoin. No bug required — only a convincing moment.
- Urgency is the weapon, and urgency is the tell.
- One pasted seed loses everything. Instantly. Forever.
